Teachers are recruited worldwide. DIS staff now includes nine nationalities. Vacancies are advertised in "The International Educator" and on the web pages of agencies and organizations assisting in international school placements. These include ECIS (European Council of International Schools, www.ecis.org), TIE The International Educator, www.tie.com and other professional teaching organizations. Teachers are normally offered two year extendable contracts. These positions are attractive to those who would enjoy the diverse challenges of a new and growing school, and who are interested in continuous professional growth in a small community of learners. Ideal applicants should be committed to inquiry-based learning, computer literate, interested in German language and culture and experienced in teaching second language learners. Founded in 1996, DIS serves more than 500 children from age 2 to Grade 12 in 2009-2010, following the International Baccalaureate (IB) program.
