Welcome to the Secondary School of the Dresden International School. Take a few moments to browse through these pages and learn a little more about our school and programme.
The Secondary School offers a complete and continuous international programme. In grades 6-10, we offer the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) and in grades 11 and 12 students follow the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. In addition to high academic standards there is a full and challenging activities programme including: vigorous musical, dramatic, artistic, and social service activities.
Academic excellence through the education of the whole child is reflected in our curriculum design and daily routine. We aim to help each student meet his or her highest potential through intellectual, social, emotional, physical and artistic growth with the understanding that each child learns and develops in his or her own way. In our school, the child is at the centre of the educational process and our international curriculum is based on this philosophy.
We aim to prepare our students to become citizens of the world; the school is concerned with the development of the whole child as individual and as a member of a community. The Secondary School aims to provide an environment in which individual attention is given to the well-being of each student both academically and personally.
We take pride in our friendly and supportive school environment and we hope that students will take a full share in enhancing the quality of the school community and the international ideals of the school.
We recognise that you may wish to visit us to see for yourselves how we work. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you would like to come – a warm welcome awaits you.
