This year DIS was once again proud to host a combined Primary and Middle School ISTA Festival (International Schools Theatre Association). We have welcomed five visiting schools from around Europe including students, visiting teachers, and ISTA artists.
ISTA is an internationally-minded organization dedicated to providing students with high-quality experiences, that develop creative learning and internationalism through theatre.
The festival at DIS included students in grade 4, 5, 6 and 7. The festival theme was based on: "What's a 'breakthrough' and when does it happen? What makes a great idea? Why do some ideas succeed and others fail? After all - for every genius, Snapchat idea, there are a million that crashed and burned".
The joint MYP/ PYP festival focused on what we mean by 'new' and 'original'. The festival will inquire into what makes one idea better, more popular, more successful than another and why some inventions fail and others succeed.
Many thanks to our organisers and helpers and as well as to our host families!
