Lunar New Year Celebrations

On Friday, 2 February we celebrated Lunar New Year at the School Campus.

This is an important annual event for many countries in Asia, and is celebrated globally. Each year is represented by an animal, and 2024 is the year of the Dragon - how fitting for DIS! All grade levels attended a performance by the Chinesisch-Deutsches Zentrum e.V. which included a lion dance, martial arts, and a Chinese spring dance in our sports hall. Thereafter students wrote couplets and indulged in some delicious dumplings cooked by members of our community.

We thank the members of our Asian community who took care of the festivities as it was an excellent opportunity to embrace and celebrate different cultures in our international community.
