English Language Support

To ensure that students arriving at our school with limited or no experience of English are supported during their acquisition of the language, the EAL programme was designed.

Pre- or post-teaching of material relevant in their chosen subjects helps language learning be more meaningful to students. Both social and academic language skills are taught enabling students to participate in all aspects of school life.

All new students with linguistic backgrounds fitting the above profile, are offered an English programme appropriate to their age and needs.

For more detailed information on EAL in the Middle Years and Diploma Programs, please refer to the EAL Information Booklet.

The booklet is an excellent source with a lot of explanations about our approach, how the program is designed, and it provides a Q&A section that addresses parent concerns in particular.

Our two school counsellors, one at the Primary School and one at the Secondary School, are dedicated to supporting students, teachers, and parents with wellbeing and emotional health, with the goal of promoting academic success.
