Solidarity Week

We are celebrating the Solidarity Week in the Secondary School, with student led sessions on mental health, LGBTQ+, gender, race & religion and communication. Our Gender Sexuality Alliance organized the week to highlight and celebrate our differences, while also calling attention to what unites us.

Over the course of the last few weeks, our Gender Sexuality Alliance (GSA) has organized weekly meetings to discuss how we can make DIS more inclusive and welcoming for all. Resulting from our conversations and shared experiences, we identified five central topics to focus on during our first Solidarity Week. There will be sessions on mental health, LGBTQ+, gender, race & religion and communication. While concentrating on a new topic each day, we want to encourage conversations around discrimination and solidarity, ensuring that students feel invited to contribute to class discussions and share their questions and opinions with classmates and teachers.
