The Buddy Programme offers a new mentoring opportunity for our students. Each Primary School student is paired up with a Secondary School student to meet several times a year to do various activities.
For the second Whole School Buddies session of the year, our students celebrated United Nations Day, commemorating the establishment of the UN on 24 October 1945. This session provided our students the opportunity to talk about their cultural experiences with their buddies and other classmates, encouraging conversation about differences and similarities between them. This academic year, the buddies will meet again on Mother Language Day in February and on Earth Day in April.
The aim of this programme is to build mentoring opportunities for our students which could improve interpersonal skills, increase confidence and their self-esteem. We are sure that our students will show remarkable growth through the experience. It is also a great way to keep the connection between the students from these two school sections.
