On Friday, 8 September was the first session of our new Whole School Buddies programme.
In the morning each Primary School student was paired up with a student in our Secondary School. The pairs will meet several times during the year to do various activities focusing on specific topics such as culture on UN Day. To start off, the students used their Buddy Book as a guideline to get to know each other—from asking each other questions about their likes and dislikes to writing ‘I am from’ poems.
The aim of this programme is to build mentoring opportunities for our students which could improve interpersonal skills, increase confidence and their self-esteem. We are sure that our students will show remarkable growth through the experience. It is also a great way to keep the connection between the students from these two school sections.
