Wolfgang Donsbach Perspectives
The speaker series has been established to promote continual pursuit towards Tolerance, Internationalism, and intercultural understanding by the deceased funding member and board chairman of Dresden International School, Prof. Donsbach. The event takes place on a regular basis and is open to the public.
"Die Kunst in unserer Gesellschaft - Verstehen wir die eigene Kultur noch?"
On December 11 we welcomed Miriam Meckel and Marion Ackermann on the podium. Participants experienced a lively discussion with the Editor of Wirtschaftswoche, Miriam Merkel, and the Director of the Staatlichen Kunstsammlungen Dresden, Marion Ackermann, moderated by Peter Zimmermann, CEO Westend Group. Over 40 people took the chance to attend the VIP Dinner following the discussion in the Kempinski Taschenbergpalais.
Religions in dialogue.
We are happy to announce that a lot of people joined an insightful dialogue on "Is There the Threat of a Clash of Cultures? Christians, Muslims, and Jewish in Dialog" among religious leaders from Dresden at the last Perspectives Event on March 16, 2017.
We were honoured to welcome Khaldun Al Saadi (Arabist / Islamic scholar, Alumni Young Islam Conference), Sebastian Feydt (Pastor of the Dresden Church of Our Lady), and Alexander Nachama (Rabbi of the Jewish community of Dresden) in a lively panel discussion. Our special thanks goes to Alexandra Princess of Lippe for the wonderful moderation of the event.
Thomas de Maizière: "Toleranz - wo hört sie auf?"
On October 28 took place the second edition of the Wolfgang Donsbach Perspectives. We have been very greatly to welcome Dr. Thomas de Maizière, Federal Minister of the Interior, as our guest speaker. Mr de Maizière discussed in a panel the topic together with Prof. Dr. Martin Gillo, former Saxon's German civil servants responsible for integration of foreigners and DIS students, moderated by Mr Michael Sagurna, Minister of State (out of service).
